Festival Highlights

Vivid Sydney, the annual festival that transforms the city into a wonderland of light art installations, music performances, and creative ideas, is set to return from 24 May to 15 June 2024. This year’s theme, “Humanity,” promises to explore the essence of what makes us uniquely human through a diverse program designed to foster connections, spark imagination, and showcase creativity.

Vivid Sydney Light Walk

The iconic Vivid Sydney Light Walk will be an 8km journey that invites visitors to immerse themselves in a visual feast of light art. Starting from Circular Quay, the walk will wind past The Rocks and Barangaroo, culminating at Wynyard. Highlights include “Gumscape with Road and Creatures,” a surreal Aussie road trip by Reg Mombassa, and “Lighting of the Sails: Echo (2024)” by Julia Gutman, which will transform the sails of the Sydney Opera House into a patchwork of fabric.

Events In Sydney acknowledges and respects Aboriginal people as the state’s first people and nations and recognises Aboriginal people as the Traditional Owners and occupants of New South Wales land and water.
