Taylor Square Artist Book Workshop – Texture, History & Creative Storytelling
Discover Sydney through a creative lens in this hands-on workshop that blends art, history, and place-making. Set in the vibrant surroundings of Taylor Square, you’ll create your own site-specific artist book inspired by the textures, stories, and evolving identity of the area.
Create, Explore & Capture the Moment
Guided by artists from Pine Street Creative Arts Centre, this unique workshop introduces you to texture relief printing using kneadable putty. You’ll collect impressions directly from the environment — surfaces, patterns, and details often overlooked — and transform them into a personalised mini artist book.
This tactile process allows you to document your experience of place in a creative and meaningful way.
History Meets Creativity
In line with the Australian Heritage Festival theme of Change, a City of Sydney historian will join the session to share insights into how Taylor Square has transformed over time.
Learn about the area’s cultural, social, and architectural evolution while capturing your own interpretation through art.
