Step into a world of movement, sound and imagination at THERE, NOW, HERE, a free interactive public artwork transforming Circular Quay during Vivid Sydney 2026. Created by acclaimed artists Wade Marynowsky and Leta Sobierajski, this large-scale installation invites visitors of all ages to play, listen, explore and become part of an ever-changing artistic experience in the heart of Sydney Harbour.
Standing an impressive seven metres tall, THIS colourful sculptural playground combines kinetic art, interactive technology, sound design and public participation to create a unique experience that evolves throughout the festival. Whether you’re visiting with family, friends or simply exploring Circular Quay, THERE, NOW, HERE offers a fascinating blend of creativity, history and hands-on fun.

An Interactive Playground of Sound, Light and Motion
Inspired by Sydney’s past, present and future, THERE, NOW, HERE is a living artwork powered by wind, motors and audience participation. The installation features an array of oversized horns, rotating sculptures, moving elements and whimsical structures that continuously shift and respond to their surroundings.
As components move through the air, they trigger and transform a rich soundscape made up of recordings and audio fragments collected from across Sydney’s history. The result is a constantly evolving composition where no two visits are ever the same.
Natural forces such as wind and weather influence the artwork throughout the day, creating a dynamic sensory experience that changes with every passing moment.

Visitors are encouraged to become active participants rather than passive observers. Interactive elements allow guests to manipulate sounds and shape the installation’s evolving musical landscape.
