An Immersive Light Sanctuary in the City

The Prism invites audiences to pause and unwind within a glowing geometric dome made of dichroic triangles that refract and scatter light into shifting rainbows of colour. Soft, pulsating LED illumination fills the structure, creating a calming, immersive atmosphere designed for reflection and relaxation amidst the energy of Vivid Sydney.

Set within cushioned seating and a softly lit environment, the installation offers a rare moment of stillness along the bustling Vivid Light Walk — a place to rest, recharge and experience light as a form of meditation.

Internationally Recognised Art Installation

Originally created for Burning Man by Theory Art Studios (TAS) from Utah, USA, The Prism has been reimagined for Sydney’s waterfront as part of Vivid Sydney 2026. Its journey from the Nevada desert to the harbour city highlights its global reputation as a transformative public art experience.

Alongside The Prism, TAS also presents Koro Loko at Campbells Cove — a striking 3D heart structure adorned with reflective dichroic surfaces, creating a shimmering sculptural counterpart within the Vivid Light Walk.

What to Expect

  • Walk-through immersive light dome installation
  • Colour-shifting reflections created by dichroic materials
  • Ambient LED lighting and meditative atmosphere
  • Relaxation seating with cushioned bean bags
  • Free access as part of the Vivid Sydney Light Walk
  • Public art experience suitable for all ages

A Moment of Calm Within Vivid Sydney

As part of the broader Vivid Sydney festival, The Prism offers a gentle counterpoint to the city’s large-scale projections and dynamic light displays. It encourages visitors to slow down, reflect and experience light in a more intimate and personal way.

Perfect for families, photographers, art lovers and festival-goers alike, this installation stands as one of the most tranquil and visually captivating stops along the Vivid Light Walk.
