Vivid Sydney at the MCA
Throughout the Vivid Sydney festival, the MCA extends its opening hours with special MCA Late evenings every Thursday and Friday until 9:00pm, combining contemporary art, live culture, illuminated projections and social experiences in one of Sydney’s most iconic harbourfront venues.
Guests can explore exhibitions after dark before stepping onto the museum’s elevated terraces and award-winning dining spaces to enjoy premium food, drinks and uninterrupted harbour views.

Kick off Vivid Sydney 2026 in style at the exclusive First Light Cocktail Party on Friday 22 May 2026.
This special opening night event celebrates Angela Tiatia’s projection artwork Vaiola, which will become the first illumination to officially light up Vivid Sydney 2026.
Held on the stunning Loti Smorgon Sculpture Terrace, guests will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across Sydney Harbour, including the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, while witnessing the spectacular opening moments of the festival.
