Take a seat, meet a stranger, and shift your perspective.

We generally avoid interacting with people in public places; Chairwave is here to change that.

This revolutionary, dynamic, and lit seating design promotes spontaneous interactions and genuine bonds among people.

As you approach, Chairwave reacts amusingly, making a seat available for you and several’strangers’. When you accept, the neighboring seat opens, inviting the next person to join you.

What happens next is up to you, but the lighthearted tone of this piece is sure to break down any walls and allow you to have a genuine conversation, no matter how brief. A reminder that a simple act, such as sitting down and asking a question, can have far-reaching repercussions, connecting us and validating our common humanity.

The installation represents the following country: the Netherlands.
