More than a decade after releasing her critically lauded and highly beloved debut album Night Time, My Time, American singer-songwriter Sky Ferreira has become a musical enigma bordering on pop myth. Between a succession of film appearances and promising a few one-off tunes, the multi-talented model, actor, and musician had fans wondering when, if ever, she’d release a follow-up to her famous debut. Ferreira is finally back, ten years after her last Australian gigs, and with a second album rumored to be on the way, and she’ll be making her Vivid Live debut.

Ferreira, a native of Los Angeles with early musical ambitions – she was notably pushed to take singing lessons by her grandmother’s boss, Michael Jackson – landed a recording contract after posting her songs to MySpace as a teenager, and released her electropop debut EP As If! in 2011. Her follow-up, Ghost (2012), saw the teenage singer collaborate with legendary producer Jon Brion, yielding the hit Devonté Hynes collaboration, ‘Everything Is Embarrassing’. Ferreira’s debut full-length Night Time, My Time, co-written with future Olivia Rodrigo collaborator Dan Nigro, had the breakout track ‘You’re Not the One’ and saw her embrace an eclectic sound that incorporated indie rock, synth pop, and acoustic styles. Critics praised it as one of the year’s best records, In the years since, she has appeared in a variety of projects, including David Lynch’s Twin Peaks: The Return and Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, as fans eagerly await her new music. She appears on Charli XCX’s Charli (2019) and released two new singles, ‘Downhill Lullaby’ (2019) and ‘Don’t Forget’ (2022), ahead of her much-anticipated new album, Masochism.

This is a unique opportunity to see one of pop music’s most luminous enigmas. Only one show, and it will be remembered as a legendary performance.
