The greatest thriller in opera is a gripping story of romance and treachery set in Rome over the course of 24 hours. The music is fantastic. Director Edward Dick creates a great sense of suspense on stage in this five-star, much-acclaimed performance from Opera North.
Tosca is an excellent introduction to opera, and opera enthusiasts will return to it again and again to see how music can elevate great stories to emotional heights. Tosca has it all, including romance, action, and a spectacular ending.
