Ultra Violet: Opening Night of Mardi Gras 2026

Ultra Violet is more than a party — it’s a vibrant energy, a glowing signal that marks the opening night of Mardi Gras 2026.

Created by long-time collaborators Sveta Gilerman and Jess Hill (DJ Estee Louder), Ultra Violet will transform the acoustic jewel of Angel Place as City Recital Hall’s auditorium and grand foyer become an immersive dreamscape celebrating queer expression, creativity, and connection.

This unforgettable night showcases the creative power of women and gender-diverse artists, featuring decadent burlesque, performance art, cabaret, striking visual installations, and charismatic drag king performances. The music sets the tone with an ECSTATICA-inspired mix of house, electro-pop, club, hip-hop, and disco, delivered by some of the scene’s most exciting queer talent, including DJ Gemma, Yolanda Frost, Jacqui Cunningham, Jo Christy, Kate Doherty, DJ Sveta, and Tanzer.

Taking place on Friday the 13th, Ultra Violet promises a little extra magic. This unapologetically sapphic space is designed to feel intimate, electric, and empowering, welcoming LGBTQIA+ women and allies alike. Come soft, come bold, come exactly as you are.

This is an 18+ event. All tickets are general admission standing.
