The 7th Taiwan Film Festival in Australia returns to Sydney’s Event Cinemas George Street, with 12 sessions and 20 Australian premieres. The festival has a wide range of events, from stunning arthouse cinema for all cinephiles to international co-production initiatives that take cinema to the next level, including stories from Malaysia and Japan. There are also eye-opening documentaries about epic stories and migrations, as well as blockbuster comedy that ensure everyone has a good time.

For the first time, they have expanded the programming team and dedicated a section to Taiwanese Indigenous works. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Taiwanese Indigenous cultures and highlight their values and voices, which are crucial to Taiwanese identity.

The festival also features additional events, including a Pitching Competition to encourage emerging filmmakers to pursue adapted screenplays and international co-productions, Taiwanese Bookshelves to discuss the behind-the-scenes of the festival’s opening night and the award-winning film Old Fox, and the iconic Short Film Competition.

Events In Sydney acknowledges and respects Aboriginal people as the state’s first people and nations and recognises Aboriginal people as the Traditional Owners and occupants of New South Wales land and water.
