This July, Sydney will host the highly anticipated return of the Bastille Festival, a spectacular four-day event steeped with French culture. Set against the gorgeous backdrop of Circular Quay and The Rocks, the event promises an even bigger scale of culinary, cultural, and now athletic wonder, paying homage to the Paris Olympics.

From the 11th to the 14th of July, you can experience the essence of France without leaving Sydney, since the event takes place at renowned locations such as The Rocks, The Overseas Passenger Terminal, East Circular Quay, Customs House, Gateway Plaza, and Quay Quarter Lanes.

Food, wine, and art—with an Olympic twist.

This year’s Bastille Festival coincides with the Paris Olympics, adding athletic flair and an Olympic parade to the already spectacular offerings of gourmet food, vintage wines, and intriguing arts. With nearly ten tons of cheese and 10,000 liters of wine and mulled wine, 120 vendors and 100 artists bring it to life. Food and wine enthusiasts will be able to experience the finest of France over four vibrant days as the Festival transforms Sydney’s Circular Quay into a gigantic French hamlet, giving a feast for all senses.

Iconic locations include The Rocks, Customs House, and the Quay Quarter lanes, where you may enjoy cuisine, drink, and art.

Five unique villages on the festival grounds encourage tourists to embark on a self-guided trip through the greatest of French gastronomy and art. Sydney’s greatest chefs will come together to serve a variety of iconic French delicacies, such as escargot, sweet and savory crepes, raclette, and other melting cheese feast. Seventeen bars will be dispersed throughout the festival, serving French wines from France’s most prestigious areas, including the Loire Valley, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Provence, and others, as well as French ciders, beers, and the festival’s characteristic mulled wine stations. With over 100 free shows scheduled, expect live concerts, street artists, fire performances, magician shows, dance courses, and plenty of street art and buskers to bring the city to life this winter.

Bastille’s popular experiences return as we add more.

Adding to the excitement, this year’s Bastille Festival will collaborate with Sydney’s avant-garde chefs and food artists, introducing Food, Wine, and Art masterclasses throughout the four-day celebration. Bastille favorites like Le Mulled Cinema and the “Wine Walk” will return.

This year’s street festival will feature a variety of activities, including gourmet French food, art exhibitions, and the well-known 1.4-kilometre wine-tasting tour around the Harbour. This year, expect outstanding movies and the most amazing French wines from eight of France’s top wine regions, with a special emphasis on a selection of spectacular wines from the Loire Valley.
