Gallery Lowe and Lee are pleased to present Fire and Ash: Woodfire 2024, their annual exhibition of contemporary Australian woodfired ceramics. Continuing on last year’s success, they are excited to welcome back the ceramicists from Mungyeong, Korea, a region well renowned for their continued practice of traditional Korean wood firing methods.

With over 40 participating artists, this exhibition is a comprehensive survey of contemporary Australian woodfire practice; the medium’s pioneers continue their Sisyphean task of renewing artistic conventions they once helped establish, which the emerging ceramicists interpret with youthful exuberance.
