The Art Gallery of New South Wales hosts Australia’s most extensive exhibition of this visionary artist’s work.

Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939), one of art’s greatest stylistic pioneers, created some of the most instantly recognized and popular works in modern European art. In sensuous, sinuous compositions, he created a new vocabulary that characterized the look of late-nineteenth-century Paris as the essence of art nouveau.

Alphonse Mucha: Spirit of Art Nouveau was created in close collaboration with the Mucha Foundation in Prague and features works from the Mucha Family Collection. The exhibition, which includes Mucha’s illustrations, jewelry, interior décor, photography, and other works, displays an artist and designer whose enormous influence continues to this day.

The NSW Government’s Tourism and Major Events Agency, Destination NSW, proudly supports the exhibition. It is accompanied by a full-color catalogue featuring over 200 photos.
