What is Chand Raat?

“Chand Raat,” meaning “night of the moon” in Urdu and Hindi, marks the moment when the new moon is sighted—signalling the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid celebrations.

Traditionally, this night is filled with festive shopping, delicious food, family gatherings, and vibrant community celebrations. The festival reimagines this tradition in a uniquely Australian, multicultural setting—creating a welcoming space where everyone can join in.
