“I’m very excited about the new jokes… mainly because I’ve been supervising apprentices and I’ve got a lot to get off my chest.”
Rohan Arneil returns with a brand-new hour of stand-up, packed with fresh material, offbeat observations, and the kind of dry, quietly chaotic humour he’s become known for.
Somewhere between being told “you’re not my boss” and then having to explain how time zones work ten minutes later, Rohan has found himself in a strange, accidental mentorship role — which, by his own admission, is probably the closest he’s come to fatherhood so far.
It’s been a big year. He’s opened for Sam Campbell, upgraded to the coveted balcony room in his share house, and is confidently declaring it the “Year of the Rohan.” Everyone else is just living in it.
Expect a laid-back, sharply written set that finds humour in the everyday — from worksite dynamics and housemate politics to the absurdity of modern life and the people you meet along the way.
A quick note: last year’s show somehow became the final stop on a pub golf crawl. While Rohan did form a surprising bond with the group, he strongly encourages future audiences not to repeat that experiment. That said, if you do accidentally vape directly into the performer’s face, a sincere apology apparently goes a long way.
