CABARET COMES TO TEATRO SYDNEY’S NEWEST PERFORMANCE HUB LAUNCHES WITH A STAR-STUDDED SEASON
Sydney’s newest theatre, TEATRO at the Italian Forum, will swing open its doors this November with a glittering new series, Cabaret at TEATRO, an unmissable celebration of song, storytelling, and Australia’s top musical talent.
Presented by Gale Edwards AM and Max Lambert AM in association with On Your Feet Productions and Teatro will see some of Australia’s most acclaimed performers take to the stage in a series of one-night-only concerts.
The season builds on the growing success of Teatro at the Italian Forum, cementing its place as one of Sydney’s most exciting new venues for performing arts.

At the helm of the season are two icons of Australian theatre:
Gale Edwards AM – Director
Gale Edwards is one of Australia’s most acclaimed and internationally recognised theatre directors, with a career spanning more than four decades across theatre, musical theatre, and opera.
She has served as Associate Director for both the State Theatre Company of South Australia and the Melbourne Theatre Company, and has directed extensively for the Royal Shakespeare Company (UK), Opera Australia, and the Shakespeare Theatre Company (Washington D.C.).
A trailblazer in her field, Gale is the first and only Australian to direct on the main stage of the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon, and the first Australian director to open a musical on both London’s West End and Broadway. Her work on the 1996 London revival of Jesus Christ Superstar which later opened at Broadway’s Ford Center for the Performing Arts earned her an Emmy Award for the televised production. She also directed the West End premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Whistle Down the Wind and the world premiere of The Boy From Oz.
For Opera Australia, she has directed acclaimed productions of Aida (2015), La Bohème (2016–2023), Carmen (2017), and Salome (2019).
Among her many honours, Gale has received three Sydney Critics’ Circle Awards, four Green Room Awards (including Best Direction of a Musical for Chess), two Helpmann Awards (The Boy from Oz and Sweeney Todd), two Mo Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theatre, and two Helen Hayes Award nominations (Washington D.C.). Max Lambert AM – Musical Director & Composer
Max Lambert is one of Australia’s most accomplished composers, arrangers, and musical directors, with a distinguished career spanning theatre, dance, film, and large-scale international events.
He has worked extensively with leading Australian companies, including the Sydney Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, Queensland Theatre, Griffin Theatre Company, Bell Shakespeare, Sydney Dance Company, and The Australian Ballet.
Max was the Musical Director for the original production of The Boy from Oz, earning the Helpmann Award for Best Musical Direction in 2001. He has since served as Musical Supervisor for major stage productions such as Hairspray, Fame, King Kong Live, and Strictly Ballroom The Musical. As a composer, his acclaimed works include Berlin (with Iva Davies, for Sydney Dance Company), Miracle City (Sydney Theatre Company), Darlinghurst Nights, Ladies Day, Letters to Lindy, The Literati, Diving for Pearls, and Hot Shoe Shuffle, the latter of which he co-wrote.
In addition to his theatrical work, Max has contributed to film and large-scale live events, serving as Musical Director for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, the 2002 Commonwealth Games (Manchester), and the 2006 Asian Games (Doha), as well as Music Supervisor for Expo 2020 Dubai (UAE). His film credits include Happy Feet and The Last Days of Chez Nous.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to Australian music and the performing arts, Max Lambert was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the 2024 Australia Day Honours.

4–5 November — iOTA in In the Dark
A true original of Australian music and theatre, iOTA brings his magnetic stage presence and genre-defying artistry to Teatro in a rare and electrifying appearance. His extraordinary talents have earned six ARIA Award nominations, four Helpmann Awards, and multiple Green Room and Sydney Theatre Critics’ Awards.
On screen, iOTA has appeared in major feature films including The Great Gatsby and Mad Max: Fury Road, and on stage he has written and starred in a string of acclaimed solo shows that have captivated audiences nationwide. In 2020, he was chosen to compete in Eurovision: Australia Decides, further cementing his status as one of the country’s most dynamic and daring performers.
6–7 November — Ursula Yovich in All the Stars We Let Go
Immerse yourself in the powerful voice and magnetic presence of Ursula Yovich, one of Australia’s most captivating Indigenous performers, in an electrifying evening of songs and stories that span her remarkable career. A multi-award-winning actor, singer, and writer, Ursula has graced stages across Australia and around the world, including Carnegie Hall, New York (Australia Plays Broadway).
Her work has earned her some of the nation’s highest honours, including a Helpmann Award for Best Female Actor in a Musical (2019), the Film Critics’ Circle Award for Best Supporting Actor (2020), and an AACTA nomination (2019) for her role in the hit feature film Top End Wedding. Her screen credits also include Baz Luhrmann’s Australia and numerous acclaimed television series.
As the 2015 recipient of the Balnaves Foundation’s Indigenous Playwright’s Award, Ursula continues to shape Australian storytelling. All the Stars We Let Go is an intimate, unforgettable evening with one of our country’s most gifted and beloved artists.
8 November — Genevieve Lemon in The Jimmy Webb Songbook
Beloved Australian stage and screen star Genevieve Lemon brings warmth, wit, and powerhouse vocals to The Jimmy Webb Songbook, celebrating the timeless music of one of America’s greatest songwriters, including MacArthur Park, Wichita Lineman, Up, Up and Away, and The Highwayman.
Direct from her performances in Sister Act, Genevieve draws on her extraordinary 40-year career, which spans iconic roles in film, television, and theatre. A frequent collaborator with Academy Award–winning director Jane Campion, she appeared in The Piano (1993) and The Power of the Dog (2021), learning a Satellite Award and a Critics’ Choice nomination as part of the ensemble cast.
On stage, Genevieve won the Helpmann Award for Best Leading Actress for her performance in Billy Elliot the Musical, a role she later reprised for the show’s West End anniversary season. Her credits include Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Death of a Salesman, The Mousetrap, and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, as well as film favourites The Dressmaker and Ladies in Black. Most recently, she appeared in the hit television series The Tourist (Stan).

9 November — Michael Cormick in An Evening with Michael Cormick
Internationally acclaimed singer and actor Michael Cormick takes the stage for an evening of songs and stories from a career that has spanned continents, genres, and generations.
With an extraordinary résumé that includes leading roles in Beauty and the Beast (as the Beast, for which he won an Australian MO Award), The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Sunset Boulevard, Grease, The Rocky Horror Show, Mamma Mia!, Annie, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Cormick has become one of musical theatre’s most recognisable and beloved voices.
On London’s West End, he has starred in The Phantom of the Opera, Romeo & Juliet, and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Woman in White, earning acclaim for his powerful performances and commanding stage presence. While living in the UK, he had the remarkable honour of performing alongside Freddie Mercury and Cliff Richard, and has since appeared at many prestigious events, including The Melbourne Cup, the AFL and Rugby League Grand Finals, the official opening of Stadium Australia (Accor), and the Christmas Festival at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
A true leading man of stage and song, Michael has also performed for Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Royal Command Performances of The Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables.

11 November — John O’Hara in That’s Not Your Light, John!
Bold, magnetic, and unapologetically entertaining, John O’Hara brings his signature wit, powerhouse voice, and charisma to That’s Not Your Light, John! An intimate and hilarious evening of music and storytelling from one of Australia’s most versatile leading men.
O’Hara’s remarkable career spans over two decades across stage, screen, and radio. He has starred in major musicals, including Wicked, Tina- The Tina Turner Musical, The Rocky Horror Show, School of Rock, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Cats, Singin’ in the Rain, and the Australian anniversary production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Internationally, he has performed in the South African production of Jesus Christ Superstar and toured extensively with Rock Rhapsody, the internationally acclaimed Queen tribute act.
A seasoned cabaret artist, John has written and performed a string of acclaimed solo shows that have earned five-star reviews and sold-out seasons at festivals and venues across the country. He also works regularly as a radio presenter for ABC, and in 2020, he creatively directed the Crown Christmas Spectacular at Perth’s Crown Theatre.
Having also appeared in productions of Oklahoma! Titanic, The Boy from Oz, Grease, Cinderella, and Peter Pan, and as a soloist with the Victorian Opera, O’Hara continues to prove himself as one of Australia’s most dynamic and in-demand performers.
12 November — Rachael Beck & Michael Cormick in You and I
A match made in musical theatre heaven, Rachael Beck and Michael Cormick reunite onstage for You and I, a celebration of friendship, artistry, and timeless song. Best friends and constant stage companions since their breakout roles in the original Australian cast of Beauty and the Beast, the duo share an unmistakable chemistry that makes every performance sparkle.
Rachael Beck is one of Australia’s most beloved leading ladies. She captured national attention as Belle opposite Hugh Jackman in Beauty and the Beast, which won the 1996 ARIA Award for Best Australian Cast Recording. Her stage credits include Fantine in Les Misérables and Rumpleteazer in Cats, Kathy Selden in Singin’ in the Rain (MO Award nomination), Maria in The Sound of Music, Truly Scrumptious in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. For the Sydney Theatre Company, she appeared in Henry IV, and as a professional vocalist, she starred in Channel 7’s It Takes Two for three seasons. She has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra in Broadway to Hollywood and in QPAC’s Strictly Gershwin (Helpmann nomination). As head judge of Wakakirri, a National Story Sharing Arts Festival for primary schools, she continues to champion young performers through The Lionhearted Theatre and Arts Program, supporting student wellbeing through creativity. Beck is also a proud Ambassador for the Australian Children’s Music Foundation.
Her longtime friend and stage partner, Michael Cormick, acclaimed for his performances in The Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard, Cats, and Mamma Mia!, and recipient of the Australian MO Award for Beauty and the Beast joins her once again to weave music, memory, and heart into a spellbinding evening.

13 November — Debora Krizak in An Evening with Debora Krizak
Leaving her gin-soaked portrayal of Miss Hannigan in Annie in the wings, Debora Krizak takes centre stage for a dazzling evening of music, comedy, and storytelling from one of Australia’s most dynamic leading ladies of musical theatre.
Debora’s career has spanned some of the nation’s most celebrated productions, including Mel Brooks’ The Producers, Titanic – The Musical, and A Chorus Line, where her performance as Sheila earned her multiple nominations, including a Helpmann Award for Best Supporting Actress, and both Sydney Theatre and GLUG Awards.
In 2014, she won further acclaim for her dual roles as Nickie and Ursula in Hayes Theatre Company’s debut production of Sweet Charity, earning yet another Helpmann Award nomination. Her versatility has shone in productions of Mamma Mia!, CABARET, Billy Elliot, Jerry’s Girls, and Anything Goes, the latter earning her a GLUG Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Beyond the stage, Debora has appeared at major public events, including Carols by Candlelight, the Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony, the NRL, and the Ashes Test Series, and made her concert debut with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Her television appearances include hosting Channel Ten’s The Music Shop, and guest performances on Good Morning Australia, Sunrise, and The Today Show.
Also a published author and passionate creative, Debora continues to inspire with her energy, humour, and unmistakable star power. An Evening with Debora Krizak is a glamorous, witty, and heartfelt night not to be missed.
14 November — Amy Lehpamer in Golden: The Best of Music Theatre’s Golden Age
With an 18-month run as Anne Hathaway in the smash-hit pop musical & Juliet freshly behind her, Amy Lehpamer brings her trademark charm and powerhouse vocals to Golden a shimmering celebration of the greatest songs from Broadway’s Golden Age.
One of Australia’s most acclaimed leading ladies, Amy earned nationwide critical acclaim for her portrayal of Maria in The Sound of Music, winning the 2015 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Actress in a Musical and receiving Helpmann and GLUG Award nominations. She was again Helpmann-nominated in 2017 for her portrayal of pop and soul icon Dusty Springfield in Dusty, and won the 2018 Helpmann Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her turn as hit-maker Cynthia Weil in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.
Amy’s versatility has seen her tour Australia, New Zealand and China as Rosalie Mullins in School of Rock, appear as Mrs Walker in The Who’s Tommy for Victorian Opera, and star in Queensland Theatre’s Our Town. Earlier credits include Sherrie in Rock of Ages (Helpmann nomination), Reza in Once (showcasing her violin talents), and the original cast of Shane Warne – The Musical.
Amy is a familiar face on Australian television, with appearances on ABC’s Australian Epic, Nine Network’s Carols by Candlelight, and Channel Seven’s Carols in the Domain. Amy has also performed with the Western Australia, Adelaide, and Queensland Symphony Orchestras. Her screen work includes award-winning short films Vis-à-Vis (British Independent Film Festival Best Short Film winner) and Space: A Skate Odyssey (NASA Film Award 2020).

15 November — Bobby Fox in Mr Entertainment
Charismatic, quick-footed, and effortlessly charming, Bobby Fox is every bit the entertainer his show promises. Irish-born and Australia-made, Bobby burst onto the scene as the original Frankie Valli in the Australian production of Jersey Boys, performing the role more than 850 times to standing ovations nationwide.
A four-time World Irish Dance Champion, Bobby toured internationally with dance spectaculars before turning to musical theatre, starring in Hot Shoe Shuffle, Mamma Mia!, Oklahoma!, Guys and Dolls, and the national tour of Ladies in Black, for which he received a Green Room Award nomination. His acclaimed performances in Assassins (Hayes Theatre Co Helpmann Award nominee) and Singin’ in the Rain further cemented his reputation as one of Australia’s most dynamic triple-threat performers.
On screen, Bobby has appeared in Upper Middle Bogan and the feature film The Cup, and as a concert artist, he has performed sold-out seasons at the Sydney Opera House and Channel 9’s Carols by Candlelight, where he remains a regular favourite. He delighted audiences as Corny Collins in Hairspray The Musical (Adelaide and Sydney seasons). Most recently, he wowed audiences as Nathan Detroit in Opera Australia’s production of Guys and Dolls.

16 November — Stellar Perry in Bloody Oath!
A powerhouse vocalist with undeniable star quality, Stellar Perry has blazed her way from television fame to the main stage, earning recognition as one of Australia’s most thrilling new musical-theatre performers.
After captivating national audiences on Star Struck, Australian Idol, The X Factor, and The Voice, Stellar transitioned to theatre with explosive success. Most recently, she owned the stage as Oberon in Bell Shakespeare’s The Lovers, stunned as Magenta in the 50th Anniversary production of The Rocky Horror Show, and lent her powerhouse soul vocals as the cover for Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar.
With her signature blend of raw emotion, magnetic presence, and rock-soul vocals, Stellar Perry lights up every stage she steps on. 18 November — Minnie Cooper in There’s Nothing Like a Dame
A true icon of Australian drag and cabaret, Minnie Cooper is a star of stage, screen, and stilettos. Known for her high-octane glamour, Minnie has performed with legends including Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Cyndi Lauper, Jimmy Barnes, Adam Lambert and Australia’s original drag queen, Carlotta.
One of the country’s most awarded queens, she has claimed multiple DIVA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year (four times), Sydney’s Favourite Drag Performer and Choreographer of the Year. Minnie dazzled national audiences as a semi-finalist on Australia’s Got Talent, a judge on Channel 7’s All Together Now, and a guest on Celebrity Name Game Australia. Most recently, as a standout contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under Season 2.
Her acclaimed one-woman show, From Chorus Boy to Leading Lad,y won Best Cabaret & Musical Theatre Show at the Sydney Fringe Festival, and her appearances at Trevor Ashley’s Mardi Gala at the Sydney Opera House have become highlights of the season. Minnie also hosted the online hit Live From Stonewall, nominated by Time Out as Best Streaming Show, and appeared in Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father on Netflix.
A fixture of the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade, Minnie even performed before Cher in 2018, proving that when it comes to charisma, class and camp, there truly is nothing like a dame.
19 November — Ryan González in Songs I’ve Never Sung
Magnetic, soulful, and endlessly versatile, Ryan González is a true triple-threat performer whose work spans cabaret, film, and world-class musical theatre.
Ryan is best known for their Sydney Theatre Award–winning portrayal of Usnavi de la Vega in In the Heights (2018), a role they triumphantly reprised at the Sydney Opera House in 2024 & most recently in 2025. They appeared as Dave in the world-premiere production of Zombie! The Musical and toured nationally as Santiago in Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
Their impressive stage résumé includes Frankie Valli in the Australian tour of Jersey Boys (Green Room Award nomination – Best Actor in a Musical), Angel in Kinky Boots, Eddie Ryan in Funny Girl in Concert with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Wayne Burns/Ensemble in Strictly Ballroom the Musical, King Kong Live on Stage, the Australian tour of Legally Blonde, and Opera Australia’s Carmen.
Ryan’s acclaimed debut cabaret ¡Hispanic Attack! toured major Australian cities, showcasing their Latin heritage and dazzling stage presence. Their voice also features on the studio concept album for the new Australian rock musical Dubbo Championship Wrestling.
On screen, Ryan has appeared in Happy Feet Two, The Great Gatsby, and the Australian film Goddess. Their artistry has been spotlighted in Vogue Australia’s December 2022 issue, cementing their reputation as one of the country’s most exciting and influential performers

20 November — Marney McQueen in Songs About Boats
Brilliantly bold and irresistibly funny, Marney McQueen is one of Australia’s most adored performers, lighting up stages, screens, and cabaret venues across Australia.
Best known for her internationally acclaimed comedy shows and powerhouse musical-theatre roles, Marney has starred in Priscilla Queen of the Desert – The Musical (Australian premiere, as Mary), Hairspray (as the deliciously villainous Velma Von Tussle), and Dreamlover alongside David Campbell (as Nina).
Most recently, she’s made waves quite literally playing Celine Dion in the hit parody musical Titanique, where her show-stopping performance has audiences in stitches and standing ovations.
With her trademark mix of glamour, wit, and wicked humour, Marney returns to the cabaret stage with Songs About Boats, a cheeky, heartfelt, and joyfully unpredictable evening from one of Australia’s most beloved comic divas.
21–22 November — Bernadette Robinson in DivaStating
A national treasure and vocal chameleon, Bernadette Robinson is one of Australia’s most extraordinary performers celebrated for her uncanny ability to inhabit the voices of the world’s greatest divas, from Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand to Shirley Bassey, Liza Minnelli, and Maria Callas.
Bernadette achieved national acclaim with her breakthrough show Songs for Nobodies, which went on to become a global phenomenon, earning her a Helpmann Award nomination in 2012 for Best Female Actor in a Play, and later, an Olivier Award nomination in 2019 following its acclaimed West End season.
Her illustrious concert career has seen her perform to sold-out audiences at the Sydney Opera House, Adelaide Festival Centre, Melbourne Recital Centre, Hamer Hall, and Queensland Performing Arts Centre, as well as internationally across Tokyo, Beijing (2008 Olympics), Shanghai (2010 World Expo), Hong Kong, Macau, Buenos Aires, Singapore, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Toronto.
