Chinese Garden of Friendship – Darling Harbour, Sydney

The Chinese Garden of Friendship is a peaceful oasis in the heart of the city and one of the greatest things to do in Sydney.

The Chinese Garden of Friendship, located at the southern end of Darling Harbour between Darling Quarter and Darling Square, is a collaboration between the Sister States of NSW and Guangdong, China.

The Garden, which opened on January 17, 1988 to commemorate the Bicentenary, was inspired by old private gardens in China from the fifth century and is a masterpiece of traditional Chinese culture combined with Australian traits.

The Garden, designed by the Guangzhou Landscape Bureau, was built out in accordance with the ancient Chinese philosophy of Taoism and its Yin and Yang principle, and it is modeled by traditional Chinese landscape paintings of miniature mountains and water.

Come in and treat yourself to the peace and tranquillity. Wander serene pathways and take in exotic plants, blooming flowers and a lake of shimmering Koi.
