The Art Gallery of New South Wales, with its stunning setting on Sydney Harbour on Gadigal land, is one of Australia’s flagship art museums and the state’s major visual arts institution. The Art Gallery is one of Australia’s best tourist attractions and a must-see for an art and cultural experience in Sydney.

Each year, about two million people visit the paintings Gallery and its extensive collection of paintings. Located in magnificent parklands overlooking Sydney Harbour, just a 15-minute walk from the city core. The majority of exhibitions and events are free to attend.

In 2024, the two structures were given Aboriginal language names: Naala Badu (seeing waters) for the north building and Naala Nura (seeing country) for the south building.
