Your mum's old lounge. Your college cafeteria. Your lawn's most beautiful flower. The lovely view of sunset. The back yard shed. The best tree in the park. Your cubby house. The most memorable picnic of your life.
Entries to the MyPlace-MyFace photo competition open Monday, May 3 2010.
You are cordially invited to submit a photograph of yourself, friends, view, memorable event of your life, family or pet in your favourite place or a place that means something to you, accompanied by a well written description of your photo.
We invite entries from people who are currently homeless to enter the 'Homeless' category and people who are housed to enter the 'Housed' category. These categories are also divided into Under 18s and Over 18s.
A wide range of great prizes are on offer including classes or private tuition at the Australian Centre for Photography, creative arts course at Pine Street Creative Arts Centre, subscriptions to Australian Photography magazine, camera bags from Crumpler, and vouchers from Ted's Camera Store and Coles.
Finalists will be featured in an exhibition at Pine Street Creative Arts Centre from 17 - 29 August 2010. Winning and highly commended entries will be announced at the exhibition launch at 6:30pm on Tuesday 17 August, with official guest speaker Lord Mayor Clover Moore.
The exhibition will then continue at Wesley Mission from 16 - 30 September 2010 where the photos will be auctioned to raise money for Wesley Mission Fundraising. Proceeds of sales at the Charity Photo Auction will be split 50/50 between the Photographer and Wesley Mission.
Submissions close Monday 12 July 2010.
